We will learn to coil pine needles around the rim of an altered gourd while incorporating beads. We will learn how to give extra support to our twisted handle and finished off with another round of beads. The pine needles are glycerinated, so they are gentle to your hands and they have greater flexibility to make tight turns.

Create Your Beaded Kumihimo Necklace/Wrap Bracelet
Make your own beaded necklace/wrap bracelet using a round Kumi disc and finish with a magnetic clasp. A variety of bead colors will be available. We will use 8/O glass seed beads and the 8-cord Gumi to make these beautiful pieces of art that you can wear home after this day-long class. Bring a work light if you have one and magnification if needed. If time allows, you will have the option to create an additional bracelet with synthetic cord and learn the 7-cord pattern.

Everything But The Kitchen Sink
This class is about combining a wide variety of materials while creating an undulating woven vessel. With a wide variety of choices in color and texture each student will create their own personal project.
Instructor will provide all the material needed for this project such as reed, seagrass, wool, yarn, fabric, raw fibers, mitizi, crow beads, philodendron sheaths, and leather. The gourd will be cut, cleaned, sealed and drilled.

Mini Gourd Mice
Out of their den and into our hearts tiny adorable mice! I’m going to show you how to sculpt a tiny mouse of a spinner gourd, wire, and quickwood clay. We’ll be working in several small steps and you’ll be shown how to sculpt each feature from their little ears to fur texture. Then we’ll paint our little guys. They have flat bottoms so they can sit on any table, shelf, or windowsill. You'll leave with two finished mice friends.

Make A Badge is a class that allows you to make a name tag to be proud of. Using a variety of techniques (wood burning, paint, colored pencil) students will select from about 13 different patterns to create a name badge that will last for years and make an “impression”. The only thing students will need to bring is a wood burner and whatever protective equipment desired (apron, mask, glasses, etc.). All else will be provided.

Frosty Village
Enjoy making Frosty dance in front of a snowy village scene. Your mini artwork is in a 5”wood shadowbox frame which you will stain.
The background village is outlined for you, so no drawing skills are needed. You will paint filling in the colors desired on wood with watercolors and decorate the houses as you wish. The snowman gourd is cut and ready for you to decorate with hat, arms, scarf, face and snow. Then your piece will be ready to hang or sit on a shelf.
We will be using stain, paint pens, watercolors, gourd, modeling paste, felt, fiber and beads. All included along with frame.
